Let it Snow!!!

Click on these pictures - you will be transported!
Here is the view out of my living room window, these are to block the noise of the rather busy street on the other side. You would never know would you...

Well, here is hoping for a few more inches, and maybe a snow day from school tomorrow - maybe then I would have time to catch up! My decorations are down, but I still have a few Christmas pictures to show everyone! So hang on/be patient! In the meantime pray for snow! I LOVE IT!
Everything looks so fluffy and white! We got twelve inches since yesterday, and it is snowing again tonight, so there is hope! But it has been coming down nice and gently, with no wind blowing it around, so we shall see. But here are a few pictures I just couldn't resist taking. I think this resident cardinal is starting to smile for me when he sees the camera coming out!

And hubby was even able to go cross country skiing today. When we moved here 30 years ago and bought cross country skis, we loved to go out along the trails along Lake Michigan. But we haven't hardly had sufficient snow the last fifteen twenty years, and now with my arthritis in my toes and knee, I really miss being so mobile! But I am glad DH got to go!

And here are a few Snow Flowers from my garden - through the living room window mind you. When I first saw these on blogs, it took me awhile to realize what they were - just flowers adorned with snow!

Oh, another neat thing about snow - in our old farmhouse we put in a sky light and it is right over our bed. Much to my hubbies chagrin, I like to have it just a little bit open year round (well lots open in the summer), but when there is snow all around like now, the sound is so cool. I even had hubby get up to listen last night - when you stick your head out the sky light, there is NO sound, it is like the snow has swallowed up all the sound! It is the strangest thing - the silence is very loud!

So snow - come on down!

Hugs from Michigan - Diane

Hi, thanks for visiting my blog. In response to your genealogy question, I try to do my research as cheaply as possible so I've never bought software. Familysearch.org has a free program which I use to store my info(PAF-Personal Ancestral File). I don't belong to that church but anyone can use it,lots of researchers do use their site. It has a lot of free data bases to search and info on getting started, so you can read their info and decide if it is right for you. Another free resource is USGENWEB.org that has free info by state. Good luck, it is an addictive hobby!

Diane, I absolutely LOVE your snow flowers. We are having frigid temps. today but no snow yet to speak of. I am really looking forward to some cold temps and snow to get rid of some of the bad bugs. About the birdseed eggs.....I think she bought those at Smith & Hawkins but I know you can easily make some. I read where some people used egg whites as a binder. But you could use peanut butter too. I would use one of those cheap plastic kids's easter eggs as a mold and just insert twine in the middle. I would hang it under an eave or sheltered place because the rain can ruin them. Give it a try and let me know. Have a great weekend. ~ Lynn

Diane,
Hello! I just realized that you left a comment on my blog over a month ago haha. Sorry... I am a little slow at learning how to use Blogger I guess. I wanted to thank you for the kind words about my mom. She was laid off for a while, but got hired back into her job a week ago! Keep in touch. God bless and take care.

Those are beautiful snow pictures! I love the ones of the snow flowers. Very cool. It's been horribly cold here. The least it could do is snow some more, so we have something besides the cold!

Hope you are doing well!
Love,
Erin

Hi Diane,
Thanks for visting my blog. I'll have to remember to post some of the "before" pictures of our kitchen makeover. We took it literally from the ground up...tore out everything, even a wall. It took 3 years because my husband did all the work himself.
It's nice that you enjoy the snow you get in your neck of the woods. Your snow pictures are beautiful. We spend the winters in Florida now. I must say that I prefer the beach to the snow now that I can't ski anymore!!
Thanks for stopping by.

Hello Diane... nice to meet you. Thanks for stopping by my blog. We live pretty close to each other. I live in Hartford and I work in St. Joe at the hospital. I am not employed by the hospital but I work for a group of urologist and I am their OR nurse.

You are right... I love the Lord, my family, birds, nature, blogging..... I bet our paths have passed before since we live so close to each other.

Enjoyed your blog... I'll be back to visit again.

Blessings... Jessica

I do work for Dr. Terhune.... Along with his 3 partners as well. Dr. Terhune is amazing. He whole family is an inspiration to me. I am very blessed to work for him. I knew Carolyn too from the office. Since I am their OR nurse I don't work in the office very much but I remember Carolyn being a real sweetheart.

Small world... huh?
