Spring is Here!

Want to show you a few pictures of the flowers in our yard. Although I am having a tough time getting the camera to focus on what I want it to focus on. It seems the ground in the background is crystal clear in focus, but the flower is blurry, even tho I had the focusing box on the flower. But one thing I did find tho is that you can't use both the macro lens and the zoom lens! That was a surprise to me, but it did explain why I was having such a terrible time getting close ups. I also photoshopped some flower pictures, but do you think I can find them - NO! And the other day I went through and got all the pictures of my card, so don't know what happened to the zipped up pictures - oh well, if I find them I will add them on later.

I just love this time of year where all of a sudden you are made aware of all the forsythia around you, and then of the cherry trees in your neighborhood, and then all the tulips and daffodils in the different yards. And I love the magnolia trees, just hope they don't get hit by any late freeze here in Michigan. And pretty soon the crab apple trees will be blooming too, they are just about ready to pop at work in the courtyard at school. I have to work on the focusing tho!

Ahh - found the edited picture, I had saved it to Flickr, so getting it over here was a little different.

And I have also been trying to figure out how to put a border around my pics - I think I might have mentioned this before - but boy this stuff is complicated! How does everyone learn how to do this stuff? Oops, better insert some pictures before I forget...

And then had to throw in these two pictures too. This is Mr. & Mrs. Cardinal, who I think have come back to our house year after year. The picture on the left they see me through the living room window, and the one on the right they don't care anymore! And the bar going across between Mr. and Mrs. is my cafe rod going across the picture window. So it looks almost like two separate pictures, but they really aren't. Oh well, too much info! But we enjoy looking at them!

Borders anyone? And remember you can click on any picture to get a better view.

Thank you for stopping by my Holding Faith blog, Diane. The Lord knew I needed encouragement today! I read "Disappointment with God" many years ago and its message has stayed with me to this day. My 21-year old recently read it, and also found it a blessing.

As for Thalidomide, that's what Phil was first treated with. Unfortunately, he can never take it again because his doctor allowed it to reach toxic levels (that oncologist was fired!) He's on Velcade right now, which also has a great track record. We're praying that Phil can achieve remission again.

Pretty pictures! Seems like everything has popped out at once; what a feast for the eyes!

Hi Di..
Oh your Spring pics are fabulous
Love Magnolia trees my folks had one when they were still with us.. and those are such pretty little white flowers..
Have you still thought about the ''name change(:)?
AND I have a program on my computer called --Microsoft Picture it! publishing 2001-- ..
you can go to your document picture and rt. click on a picture and it will give you options what you want to open it with or what you want to send it to... so choose that if you have it and that program has ''picture frames'' and other ways to make your pictures cute..
well hope you have it..big hug for now Patty

Lovely Cardinals. A robin has decided to nest in our backyard. I'm hoping the stray cat around here doesn't get them.

Hi....you asked what I did with the pic on the blog....First let me say that I am VERY much a beginner! Although I can't remember exactly what I did, I think I did this:
Unsharp Mask, sepia tone, lower opacity. I might have used the "vintage photo" layer too. Not sure. I experiment so much I can't remember!
Another great book: Velvet Elvis by Rob Bell.

HI Diane, I'm having a great time checking out your blog. Love thos buttons from your grandmother. They are so pretty, I have buttons from my grandma too. I don't know for sure about frames around your pictures but I found a good how-to information site for how to do different things on your blog and it might have info you could use. It's called tips fpr new bloggers and here is the link http://tips-for-new-bloggers.blogspot.com/index.html .
Copy & paste it into your browser and I am sure you will find good information you can use:>) Have a great day!

Your photos of the flowers are lovely. I have just put some more of my Summer flowers on my blog, and I think we are a little more advanced here, maybe warmer weather?

Hi! Thanks for stopping by my blog! I am moving only about 8-10 miles away from where I currently live. We aren't close to St. Joe, but we aren't far. S. Haven is about 25 minutes away. I am a little older than your kids, I think, but not by much. I love all of your spring flowers! Beautiful! Have a great end of the week/weekend!
