I only have just a minute here, but soon, very soon I will tell you all about our wonderful trip to the U.P. to see our son, who graduated from Michigan Tech in December and is now working in Houghton.
We camp at a wonderful State Park up there - McLain State Park, that is right on Lake Superior, and you get to go to sleep hearing the sound of the rolling waves in the distance. It is wonderful
And here are Ben and Emily climbing Jacob's Falls in the Upper Peninsula (Michigan). My kiddos - Ben & Emily at our campsite.
Here Dad and Emmy are watching Ben play softball - and their church team won the championship that night! It was very exciting!
Then this wonderful past week, where I was able to get together with a dear friend (Melita) from college, (twice even!). On Tuesday Melita came down to St. Joseph, (and even brought lunch - thanx Melita!!!) for the day. Here we are - myself and Melita.
Then on Friday, my good friend from high school, and her husband, came across Lake Michigan on the Ferry, and we met in Muskegon for supper. They were staying at the Emory House Bed and Breakfast place there - it was beautiful, maybe you would enjoy some of the pics I took when they gave us the tour. It was great.
And this is my hubby and I on the left and Susan (my high school buddy) & Gary, from Milwaukee, on the right.
Then we continued a little further north and went to visit my brother and his wife for a few days. Had a good time catching up and enjoying the peace and quiet in the woods! My brother Paul, and his wife Gwen
Color coordinated dessert, now that is good!
The neat garden at the ice cream shoppe!
Sunflowers along the road to my brother's house.
When at my brother's we got to go to my friend Melita's church (her hubby is the pastor) and meet their first grandchild too! My college buddy - Melita, her hubby, and their first grandchild!
And TOMORROW we are leaving at 5 AM (and yes, it is midnight now!) because hubby and daughter are riding their bikes from Grand Haven, MI to Grand Rapids (45 miles), along with about 200 folks from our churches denomination who are riding their bikes from "Sea to Sea" to raise money to fight poverty. And there will be an additional 200 people joining this group (like dad and em) to join with them. We also spent a night and a day bringing furniture up to GR to daughter's new house for this year at school, and I did this after suffering some terrible kind of injury to my knee, which is still hurting incredibly, and has left me tied to the couch, hoping we can get my knee to "settle down". - ha ha!
So I just wanted to let you know I am still here and
would sure love it if you left a comment! (does begging help???)
And then school starts in another two weeks - eeks!!! So I will throw a couple pictures in here but it will be pretty bare bones, I hope to write a lot more soon!!!Hugs from Michigan! P.S. Did I ever tell you all about my sister's birthday? Hmmmm....
